As free press is one of the critical requirements of democracy, Aïna trains journalists and helps them show their work to as many people as possible.
Since 2001, Aïna Press in Afghanistan has trained several hundreds of Afghan journalists and has supported ten newspapers and magazines distributed in great numbers across the country.
Some of those publications are classics in the Afghan media landscape and were banned for a long time under the Taliban regime, such as Sabawoon, a society magazine, Zambel-el-Gham, a satirical monthly magazine, and Kabul Weekly. Other publications were launched by the Aïna teams in Kabul and met with great success such as Malalaï, a women's monthly magazine, Seerat, Nouvelles de Kaboul – New Afghanistan, Aïna News, as well as Parvaz ("Soaring"), a children's magazine offering young Afghans a real window onto the world.
